Cyclists and walkers will gather at The Ball Park in Old Orchard Beach on September 12 for the New England Parkinson’s Ride, an annual fundraiser supporting Parkinson’s disease research.
Riders can choose from routes of 10, 30, 50, 62 or 100 miles, with the 100-mile loop taking cyclists through rolling hills and scenic coastal Maine terrain. New this year, organizers added a walking route to broaden participation beyond cycling.
The event, started in 2008, has grown into a successful annual fundraiser drawing hundreds of participants from across the region. All proceeds raised by cyclists help support Parkinson’s research.
