Bowhunters across Maine are getting ready for Saturday, October 3 when the state’s regular archery season for deer opens statewide.

The regular archery season runs from October 3 through October 30, 2026. It follows the expanded archery season, which opened September 12 in designated areas and continues through December 12. Under state rules, hunters are generally limited to one antlered deer per year, though additional antlerless deer may be taken with valid antlerless deer permits.

Hunters are reminded that hunting is prohibited on Sundays in Maine. Full season dates and bag limits are available from the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.
